This has been a long time.
Today i want to tell you about my experience in Maldives. Sounds perfect- Maldives islands. And it really is nice! But....
Story time!
So my mum was going on vacation there and i thought nice! Im "super close" to them, so i can go visit and meet up in Maldives! Couldn't sound better, huh?
We decide that i will joy them for last 4 days. Book a flight to Male.
I was flying all night. 6 hours. (yeah, i really thought Male is just around the corner. Haha) Landed around 6 in the morning. in the airport security check, luggage check. I don't know why, but probably it was just weird to see person alone in the honeymoon island and only with hand luggage. So, i sat down and was hopping for internet. Nop. I needed to wait my mum for 3,4 hours. Airport is so small and kind a cute. And so beautiful outside! You really land on the island and the water! So blue water! So blue!
So finally i met my mum! I was so tired but super super happy! Our plan was just stay near to Male. Male is the capital of Maldives islands. We went to hotel and realise that there is nothing to do! We weren't exact in Male, but on the island where the airport is. Of course for me it wouldn't count to be in Maldives, so we decided to go to islands! Checked booking.com and looked for paradise hotel. My mum just came from nice island, so she knew how the place need to be. But we didn't wanted to go two times to the same destination.
And then it started....
Never, never, never go to Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives resort.
Pricing looks good, pictures looks amazing! Reality- totally different.
We enter the island and waiting for the paradise. But...
First room what we get was super spacious but terrace was full of shits! Plastic bottles, unfinished cement materials, etc. So we asked for the manager and was hoping to get a better room. Because first of all this wasn't the room which we booked and it wasn't very attractive to us. Ok, we went to next room, which was quite ok. But the manager promised us that we can go a ocean view room tomorrow. Ok, deal.
But if you would see this shower! OMG, i'my paying this insane price in this hotel and i'm getting just a old school shower holder without shower cabin. Without any shelfs, anything!

Also for eating, we had all included. On the island there is 3 restaurants where you can eat. BUT- hotel decide in your place in which you will eat. And in every restaurant is different. They put you like in boxes- poor people, average people and people who stay in over water villas.
Let's speak about beach! If you think about Maldives, you see white sand and blue water. I need to say water was really beautiful. But i never went to swim where was the beach, i always went to other side of the island and was swimming under the over water villas. Because there was clean water, beautiful view and some fishes! Because under water life here is fantastic!
We went to dolphin tour. OMG. i was so scared! Im super afraid of open water, because i don't know how to swim long distances. Ocean wasn't calm at all. The waves! Jeeeezus! I was so afraid! Boat went up and down, up and down. And you don't see land anywhere around you. But i saw dolphins! They were cute and very active! And i survive! But i don't think i would do it again.
And we also got really fantastic massage. That was also really nice.
So of course, four days went fine and i was happy to meet my mum. And beautiful insta pictures can make everywhere, but if i would spend all my money on this trip i would be so upset. Really. Not worth money at all.
I wanna give Maldives another chance, i wanna see the real Maldives and feel good and happy there!
My mum said other islands where she went, was a real paradise!
So with this post just wanted to warn you about this place and really checked places where you going. Reading reviews and just make sure that you have rights to fight about what you booked! And maybe if you book, then book a over water villas. We would also did it, but they were full. Then i believe it would be much much better.
Will post some pictures as well then you can understand more what i'm speaking about.
But anyway i believe Maldives are beautiful and nice, and i'm happy i had this opportunity! Hope to enjoy it one more time! Just another island!
